FAQ: Why is the print quality on my Dymo Rhino Self-Laminating Tape so faint?

Q) Why is the print quality on my Dymo Rhino Self-Laminating Tape so faint?

We have taken this up with Dymo and they don't see this poor quality of print as a fault.  They state that for this particular type of tape (ie. self laminating) the customer should print in BOLD and at MAXIMUM CONTRAST.  They also state that print quality can be improved on the 6000 by printing from the rhino connect software, though we have yet to test this theory.

You should also make sure when testing, that you are using mains power (low battery can cause faint print).  They also suggest the machine may need to 'warm up' before the best quality print is achieved.

If the print quality is really bad (but perfectly fine on other tapes) then you may have a faulty tape, but chances are it's just "as designed"...
