Troubleshooting: The print is broken or faded on Dymo Rhino 4200

Different tape materials - especially Vinyl - work better with different power levels so if you're having print quality issue on your Dymo 4200 printer, try adjusting the power setting.

If the output from your Dymo Rhino 4200 labeller looks of poor quality (especially printing onto Vinyl tape), then you can try increasing the power:

  • Switch the machine off
  • Press the ALT, '8' and power buttons simultaneously
  • Increase the value to the maximum using the up arrow

The print quality should have improved.

Well if the screen is off, then either the screen is broken or the machine isn't powered up. If it has no power then it won't reset. If it has power but the screen is broken then you may be able to reset it, but how would you know if it worked and what would be the point anyway - it's not going to fix a broken screen. Or if the screen is on (ie. backlit) but it's just blank then just try the reset - it will either work or it won't. Here's how to do it: Turn the printer off, then press simultaneously: ALT + 9 + Power buttons
